  • Paid subscription stopped working

Concept is great, visually appealing, easy to understand and use, and free version where you manually input your transactions is nice. This honestly WAS a great budgeting app I’ve used with my wife for 2 years until the PAID version just stopped working with my bank account a month ago with no fix. There’s also no customer support number to call (can only submit an online request for call back) and for nearly the cost of a Netflix subscription, I expected better. There’s nothing like trying to budget when your primary means to do so stops working for a month or longer :(
  • Key to healthy finances.

This app has key to good, healthy, and structured family finances. Having data is key to making change in your finances. Without the data you don’t know where your money is going and seeing it by percentages does something to the meaning. Take control of your finances, I highly recommend this tool. Been using for 1.5 years now. The subscription service is great and connects to your bank, and bring a Dave Ramsey company I trust there is no fowl play. Thanks Dave and Team for a great finance product.

EveryDollar is a great budgeting app. EveryDollar Plus is a waste of money. It pulls in transactions directly from your bank, which can be up to a day or two later. By that time a person could have blown their budget. If you like to track your spending in real time (which is best practice for a budgeting app) EveryDollar Plus has no way to reconcile manual transactions with the transactions that come through the bank feeds. You have to delete one or the other. Major flaw. Many have requested this feature and it would be nice if the developers actually listen to suggestions for improvement instead of trying to convince people that real time transaction entry is a waste of time. Wrong. That’s the whole reason people used to balance their checkbook and why they didn’t have the level of debt people have nowadays. It’s good to advance and start to do things digitally but that doesn’t mean tossing out the fundamentals.

  • I like it, but...

It would work better for me if EveryDollar would be flexible, allowing users to change the beginning of the month date. I could change the beginning of each month to start on the day that I get paid each month, which is the 20th. I always start using the month coming up. So on June 20th, I start my JULY budget. The app will always have us in the current month. The problem is when adding transactions and I haven’t changed the month manually, at the top, to the next month... I’ve mistakenly entered into the month I just finished! :/ Keeping a budget, knowing where my money is going, has been a game of life changer for me in the best ways. !!!

Do yourself a favor and download the app. It’s excellent! Easy to use. Displays data easily and easy to enter your info in. Much easier than Mint. I always had issues using that app and as a result stopped budgeting. Every Dollar has been a life saver and an eye opener for me.
  • iPad app is so bad as to almost be useless

I love almost all things Dave Ramsey and I’ve put off writing this review for quite a while because of my bias towards loving Ramsey solutions products; however, I simply can’t take it anymore and need to voice my displeasure with the iPad version of this app. First of all, the iPhone version of this app is GREAT; however, the iPad version is absolutely horrible. The biggest issue is that it’s not a true iPad app and as such, the iPhone version of the app will scale up to try and fit the larger iPad screen. This in and of itself is bad enough but the next glaring issue is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. The app is stuck in portrait mode and won’t rotate when I use my iPad in landscape mode. I won’t even mention the fact that it logs me out on a fairly regular basis (I’m assuming I get logged out whenever the app updates) since it’s not the only iPad app that does this. I guess I’ll be stuck using EveryDollar on my phone until they fix this train wreck of an iPad app.

Love the app but I wish I could see my debt details.
  • Horrible UX

I really want to love this app. I love Dave and his principles and it has helped us knock down debt and stay focused. However the user experience on the apps is rough for both mobile and website. There are so many things that aren’t intuitive and some of the features (i.e. inputting dollar amounts in categories) are sloppy. The app should learn your spending habits and start to auto-suggest categories based on history. I hope the product improves and I’m happy to be included in user testing.
