  • Grade doesn’t work

    I added most of my pantry, freezer and fridge items when I decided to upgrade to create additional lists. All of my items disappeared after the upgrade. There’s no help or explanation how to get them back. What a waste. Pun intended.

    Notifications aren’t available in the free version so I paid for the full version. I have setup to be notified 1 day before expiration and I have enabled notifications in my iOS settings. Nothing. Without notifications, this app is worthless to me. Want my money back.
  • Keeps CRASHING!!

    So in the middle of cv19 pandemic I wanted an app to track what food we have to work w, what we’ll need...etc., I install 3 similar apps(this1, pantry chef, myinventory)...decide to go w yours and pay the 1 time upgrade. It’s user-friendly, has quick video tutorials, cute icons for the categories and other stuff, bUT... it keeps shutting down just as I input the details for my stocked stuff! It’s gonna take forever to organize what I’ve got on hand (and that’s ONLY if it doesn’t keep crashing). The developers and their creative team have a good idea, but it defeats the purpose of managing food waste&costs...if my time waste increases. DEVELOPERS: Please fix this bug, it’d be nice to rewrite a post review for the app w 5 starred details. Or at least refund my purchased upgrade.

    I sent support an e- mail with the issues I’m having and am waiting a reply. The scanner function wasn’t working consistently and it would hang with the only option was to X out which would cause me to lose those items that it had scanned correctly. It would allow me to enter the food item name if it couldn’t be found in the multiple databases so that I could capture that item and continue on to the other items. The reporting feature wasn’t as robust as I wished or needed so was happy to see there was an export function to a cvs format. However, it consistently failed to supply the location of the item (pantry, freezer, etc) even though that information was entered into the app. It would only provide in that export file the quantity I had in inventory, expiration date and the type of container (jar, can, bag, etc). However, today as I started entering items from the shelves in the basement, it failed to provide quantity, type of container and as before the location : Basement. If it doesn’t work consistently it’s just too frustrating and unusable. It should not be downloaded. I did purchase the upgraded app and this was where I was experiencing all of these issues. I’ve asked for a refund. I must say however, if these issues were fixed, the app does allow you to quite quickly scan and enter inventory items by use of the bar code. There’s potential but it simply doesn’t provide any useful functioning.

    I loaded all of my food into this app only to get an error message saying that the data can’t be read and now I can’t see any of my items.

    I downloaded the app to try it out. I tried several others but they each had something that wasn’t quite what I was looking for. This app has some flexibility that allows you to get a handle on your inventory. Though it may not be prefect for everyone as we all have a different idea on what we need an app to do. In my opinion it is close to what most of us need from this type of app. Now that being said I did have a slight issue when upgrading to pro, which I like the ability to send to CSV by the way. It was having trouble upgrading, I sent an email advising of my issue and had a response in 24 hrs and the issue was resolved within 48 hrs. Thank you for taking care of this issue so quickly.
  • Free or Pro worth it either way

    I got through cataloging almost my entire pantry with Free and decided to upgrade because I wanted to export. Am loving it so far. My only ask is that you could have different expiration dates within each item so I don’t have to have 5 separate listings for each item in my stash. I’ve been keeping 1 listing and just using the most recent date, but there’s room for improvement there.
  • Expect frustration and data loss

    I spent a fair amount of time creating an inventory, only to have the app unexpectedly crash and lose all of the data. Now reading reviews, several others have had the same problem. This appears to be fairly common. There are number basic use-ability issues that are also frustrating, but unexplained data loss is a show stopper.

    Really liked the promise of syncing and scanning, and the UI looks slick. Receipt scanning is basically non-functional.

    I like the concept, it’s well designed, not expensive (I upgraded), and I was excited to use it! So I scanned about 20 items in my pantry, went through and edited categories and amounts, and then clicked “add all” and the app crashed and went I went back in none of the stuff I added saved. It probably only took about 5 to 10 minutes to do, but it was tedious and I was too frustrated to do it again. I probably could scan each item individually but then it would be even more tedious. Also: when you click “add all” and it actually does work, you get a message saying something like “added!” You’re supposed to click “ok” but no matter how many times you do the message won’t go away. Lastly: there isn’t an icon for oils. I use oils. In spite of all of this, I do like the app, so I’ll keep it and hope for bug fixes.
