  • Cheap imitation of the original Peggle

This one is not very much fun. I do no like the way the game forces you to wait 30 minutes for a new life or to try to wheedle money to buy new lives. The characters are subpar as well.
  • Ruined a once great game

The game adds way too many hazards that simply make it not fun to play. These include fireballs that instantly destroy your ball, buttons that will block your path, gnomes that put slime on the pegs, time bombs that will end the level if you don’t hit them, and boards that constantly shuffle themselves. What makes this even worse is that they took the original Peggle off of the App Store so we can’t even play that. Very sad to see what was once such a good game go down the drain like this
  • Was awesome PC game. App is crap

Loved this game when it was on PC. Played the app and enjoyed it at first. But like other reviewers became increasingly frustrated with it and deinstalled. As others noted, I would have been happy to pay decent money for the app. But instead they make levels nearly impossible to win without buying extras. Sure you might be able to eventually win after you use up your 5 lives, wait for them to regenerate then repeat until you finally get past. If you are good with that, go for it. I am good with difficulty, but refuse to give in to the extras blackmail. Screw you EA. RIP popcap games.

Peggle was one of my favorite games as a child. The music, the artwork, the characters, all of these factors make it one of my all-time favorites. When I saw Peggle Blast, I knew I had to get it. How bad could it be? Pretty bad, as it turns out. The core gameplay is still Peggle, but a lot of its charm has been stripped. For music, there's only one dull, uninspired track. The creative backgrounds with accompanying peg layouts are also gone. As for the characters, well, several make a return, but their design has been drastically changed. So aesthetically, it's not that great. But this is only the beginning of its not-greatness. This game was not published by Popcap, the original owner of the Peggle IP, but was instead published by EA. (You can see where I'm going with this.) As with any and every EA game, there are ludicrous amounts of microtransactions. This by itself wasn't a surprise, but the way they destroy the structure of Peggle's gameplay is astonishing to the point where I didn't use any of the items because it didn't feel like how Peggle was meant to be played. Peggle is mainly a game of luck, with a small bit of skill. If you time your free ball shots right and use your powers resourcefully, you pass the level. Spending money to get a powerup butchers that part of the game. And finally, there's one huge game-breaking glitch. When you start a level, the pegs gradually spawn in all blue, then once all pegs are in, they change colors accordingly. This means you can hit a peg that was supposed to be orange before it can turn orange and before the game can register the fact that you hit an orange peg, meaning that the level has one less orange peg that is impossible to obtain, making the level impossible. Sure, if you don't fire immediately this shouldn't be a problem, but the fact that the glitch is still there is unexcusable. In conclusion, Peggle Blast is basically EA's vision of Peggle, but clearly their vision is warped. This isn't what Peggle is. Peggle is supposed to be a simple game with relaxing music and visuals. This is not that. This is a mess that butchers the Peggle IP. If you're a Peggle traditionalist like me, this game isn't for you. It's a shame that this is the death that the Peggle IP gets. It's a terrible way for any IP to die, as a microtransaction-riddled, uninspired mobile game with its main mechanics removed, especially since a mobile port of the classic Peggle was removed to make room for this disastrous game. Another innocent series ruined by EA.

This game used to be fun, but now has so many ads (one after each “play”) that it is now unbearable. Nice job- NOT!!

I loved original peggle. I played it all the time when I was five, at my grandmas house. Oh, that sweet nostalgia. Remembering it makes me happy. But OH MY GOD, THIS right here, is flat-out GARBAGE. You took a five-star classic that brightened my childhood (I'm still in it, I'm eleven, but still) and transformed it into a money-absorbing trash heap. I can't believe people actually made a game where you would have to wait HOURS just to play the next level, and otherwise you would have to pay MONEY to move on automatically. What I'm saying is that you have to pay money for a smorgasbord of the SMALLEST things. People out there eat it up. The only reason you made this is to steal all of everyone's hard earned cash. If you wanna be this way, then maybe just make the app itself cost money, and all the in-app purchases free. If you think I'll spend a CENT on this disappointment, you would be DEAD WRONG. All your company does is steal another company's hard work and hoard mountains of money off of it. I would sue you if I weren't a preteen. What was once a legend, transformed into a garbage money vacuum. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE WHO RATES THIS FIVE STARS. THEY WERE PAID TO LIE TO MAKE YOU GET THE STUPID APP. Additionally, they make every level nearly IMPOSSIBLE on PURPOSE, so that people would have to pay EVEN MORE for stupid crap such as more balls or power ups. SCREW EVERY PARTICLE IN YOUR BODIES FOR ALL ETERNITY. (in case you didn't know already, I hate this)
  • Too many ads.
