  • Bought upgrade and app did not upgrade

It took 2 days for the app developers to respond to my emails regarding the fact that I had purchased the app upgrades and my account had not been updated with those upgrades. When they finally emailed me back, they did fix it. Don’t be fooled by the “life chat” box. There’s no live chat. They respond a day or 2 later.

Paid for the lifetime subscription (1000 questions). Very intuitive way to sharpen the mental health skills for the LCSW exam

This app really helps me to get a feel for how the real exam will be. Very helpful!! And I can flag questions that I want to go back to and build exams around them! Highly recommend!
  • Do NOT waste money on this app.

The app takes concepts word for word out of Dawn Apgar’s textbook, but the actual textbook is much more useful and has better structured practice questions. The questions in this app may help you review concepts, but they aren’t always worded like they actually will be on the exam. Apgar’s book is much more thorough and helpful. This app also has way too many questions that are stigmatizing/homophobic/just plain wrong. Do not waste your money on this app. It’s not recommended that you study only with practice questions, so you’re better off reviewing the material itself rather than doing 1000 practice questions. Also, the “pass guarantee” functions as a scam. I was on track to finish all of the questions one week prior to my exam. I only had 20 questions left to do, so I did a 20 question practice test...and then it showed I still had 15 questions left. Multiple practice tests later, the number hasn’t changed at all because I keep getting repeated questions that I’ve already answered multiple times in the past. In fact, the number of remaining questions actually INCREASED to 16 somehow, despite getting all of the answers right. There isn’t an option to request receiving only new questions on the practice tests, so it seems like the “pass guarantee” stipulation of completing all 1000 questions is designed to either fail or waste hours of your time on questions you already know. It’s far better to save your money and spend that time actually reviewing the material in Apgar’s book or taking the free exams on socialworkexam.org. Aside from all of those issues, there are a ton of technical problems. The app on my iPhone crashed constantly, especially when trying to look at past exam progress. I was never able to look at past Question of the Day progress, as that page always crashed. The app also logged me out 1-2 times per week. The issues became so frustrating as I tried to practice daily that I had to delete the app and switch to the desktop version. It was slightly better on desktop, but the QOTD progress page STILL never loads, and my question metrics show different numbers (varying amounts of questions answered vs. attempted vs. remaining) depending on where I look on the webpage. Long story short: if you’re going to spend money, rent Apgar’s book on Amazon for roughly the same price as this app. I don’t know how this app is so highly rated.
  • Poorly worded questions

I found the questions on this app to be very poorly written. It was riddled with run on sentences and bizarre phrasing to the point where you could not even understand what was being asked. I was simultaneously horrified and angered by this app. I’m not quite sure why it carries the ASWB name, the questions are not remotely equivalent to other practice exams.
  • Great app when it doesn’t freeze.

There are some glitches that need to be fixed. Studying with this app shouldn’t also include the frustration of it constantly freezing or closing. This app used to work perfectly but it seems that every time my iPhone updates this app gets worse.
  • Terrible

This app crashes frequently. When it does open it runs slowly. When I reported issues, the customer service was no help and couldn’t even use proper spelling and grammar in their responses. Additionally, some of the questions are incorrect. I’ve looked things up after being confused by an answer’s explanation, just to find out that I was confused because the answer they claimed was correct was wrong.

Passed on my first try! This app along with the Apgar study book and a you tube video was the perfect combo! I got more than required correct on the test!

After taking and passing my LCSW exam I’m really frustrated by how much time and money I invested in this app. The questions are not representative of the actual exam and didn’t prepare me for the exam. The questions in this app are so overly specific and require a much deeper level of recall information than the actual exam requires. I was getting anywhere from 20-80% on the practice exams (usually on the lower end) in this app and it completely destroyed my confidence. On a colleague’s recommendation I took the actual exam and passed with over 90%. Additionally. The app sometimes freezes (especially on the computer) and can take a while to load the question of the day.
