  • Still Semi-Broken/Almost Unusable

BROKEN BROKEN BROKEN BROKEN 1/15/19 FIFTH update in a row that hasn’t resolved the issue of the current file not staying open for very long and needing to be downloaded and reopened over and over again each time Excel is brought to the foreground after a short while, which several others reviews have mentioned. Sooo disappointing... but I haven’t found a good enough iOS alternative to replace this. Yet. I just wish I could downgrade to the version just before this issue appeared. 👎👎👎

A problem I’m having is when I use quotation marks in a formula. It tries to input a fancy quotation instead of a plain text quotation, and breaks the formula. Stop doing that across all office products, please. It’s 2019, not 1996.

Where are all the useful buttons? Where is the save button? Why does the same spreadsheet keep popping up every time I open the program? This version is a mess.

Why, every time Microsoft Office apps are updated, is the download 200-300 MB? Has Microsoft not heard of delta updates? Otherwise, good app!
  • Almost Great!

By far the most faithful Excel on iOS! I have moved very complex spreadsheets from laptop to iPad without problem. Issues: 1. Anomalous behavior when operating with intermittent WiFi. Gets confused when moving between full Wifi to No Wifi to Wifi but No internet to full Wifi. Sometimes hangs. Sometimes just exits. Might be better to let user control net access to avoid Excel dealing with network connectivity errors. 2. Lack of VB/Macros precludes sophisticated spreadsheets and those with UI built using buttons and other controls.
  • Why do I suddenly need a Office 360 subscription??

    By Ya, right.
I like being able to access my excel files from my iPhone. Works great for simple editing and updating. But suddenly I can not edit an excel file that I had created on my laptop and had been able to edit it on my iPhone before. It opens read only and when I try to save it to another name or location it does not allow it because I now must have an Office 360 subscription. I never had one to begin with. I have a one drive account, but that does not get me around this. WHY do I suddenly need an Office 360 subscription? It’s MY file; I created it OUTSIDE of this iPhone app. WHY are you holding me hostage? I can’t find an explanation for why this happened and why I now need the subscription. Google Sheets seems to work just fine and I am now using that instead. Are other Office apps going to do the same thing to me? Incidentally, if you get stuck by this, I finally got around not being able to write the file anywhere by mailing the file to myself from inside the app and then I opened it with Google Sheets.

It’s a very useful TOOL 🛰 it guides you throughout the app. It teaches you how to use it step by step how to create templates for what you need so it’s also very convenient. If you create a template for your daily expenses • ex: what you expend by priority laid out for you by how much of what’s important you expend. •ex: TIME•EATING•exercising•WORKING• How much I expend in...A DAY -A WEEK- A- MONTH A -YEAR A -DECADE -2 DECADES...of what I care about. That is how I measure my life. And “not for nothing. But” this app really helps me accomplish that.
  • For viewing on iPads only unless you like frustration

Simple functions do not exist in the iPad version of excel. Such as duplication of a sheet, pasting, etc. I use excel daily and even automate test equipment processes with it, but try to setup a multiple sheet workbook... forget it.
  • Garbage... won’t even run in iPad Pro.
