  • Don't do the trial

If you forget to cancel before the brief trial period (surely I'm not the only one to forget these things) you're charged $100, and neither Apple nor Blinkist will refund it. Borderline unethical way to overcharge potential customers.

If you are looking for tips for entrepreneurship this is it but, I have no intentions to listen through dozens of business help ‘Blinks’ to help me spiritually grow in my life with my family.

Great app but needs additional sync options other than Evernote.
  • Quality of content has gone down

Quality of new content has gone down since last year. I wish they will.focus on the core premise of the product rather than trying to sell audio books. Ui and ux hasn't improved in one year. Fix the bugs
  • Well, it’s nothing that I haven’t seen before.

The app’s esthetic is impressive, the features are right on point to make you feel like you have found something completely new; however, this app is nothing that I haven’t seen before. This app is supposed to be built by the smartest people? Oh and Education and knowledge shouldn’t be this expensive. I can find all of this information without this app. So then why bother? The App is good, but it’s not revolutionary. It might work for you, but I would recommend instead to educate yourself how to navigate the Web so that you can find the information you are looking for instead of paying this much money. I hope this helps.

TLDR: only people who will get the benefits are the ones reading the books to write the summaries for Blinkist. Firstly, the summaries are very short and don’t do justice to reading an actual book. I read some summaries of the books I have read in the past, and these are too short and lack a lot of details. This is a great app if you want to be a jack of all and master of none. I believe it’s an insult to authors everywhere. The whole point of reading a book is to get the context fully and dive deep. Ironically, most books are productivity and self help books. Reading several productivity books in a day is not productive. Also it takes time to really grasp and change ones habits. Reading a book in 8 mins is not going to make that happen.
  • $100 charge if you don’t cancel free subscription in time

I signed up for the free trial, not a bad app, just found it wasn’t my cup of tea and that I like full audiobooks better. My free trial was due to expire on June 24 (today) and as I was going to cancel, I realized that I had been billed a couple hours before for an entire year subscription. Blinkist didn't charge me for a month, they charged me for a year!!! Customer support says there is nothing they can do and to contact apple. I can’t help but feel this is a scummy way of taking advantage of busy people that aren’t on the ball with canceling in time. I would eat a month’s charge for being a couple hours late in canceling, but to charge over $100 for an entire year? That isn’t right...

    Why?
  • Suckered

App is ok, not great. But I got suckered into paying a full year, non refundable subscription rather than a month to month agreement as I had been led to believe. Definitely not worth $99! Now I’m stuck with this thing for a year.

There are an endless list of books that have been added to the catalogue of books available on Blinkist. Not only are they effective at conveying information both audibly and through orthodox (just like Spark Notes) but they are enjoyable to read and listen to. Especially since the speakers are so darn captivating and enjoyable to listen to! You can also read along while you listen, which is what I do at 1.25x speed!
