  • Audio only after switching between Udemy and other apps

    By Skoorbc
Switching from Udemy to other other apps and back on a 2018 iPad Pro results in black screen with audio only and requires quitting the app and restarting to bring back the video. Why switch apps you ask? To take notes or follow instructions while taking a course! This bug is VERY irritating.
  • Fatal flaw

    By RussellQuinn
The app is mostly pretty good, but when watching a video on my iPad Pro, every time the screen goes to sleep when in a pause state, and then I unlock my device to continue, the video is blank and I only get audio. I have to select another video chapter, then go back to the chapter I actually want to get the visuals again. When you’re following a course, you need to constantly pause and resume to catch up. So, this bug is so frustrating that the app is not fit for purpose. Also, the full-screen button’s tap area is way too small. It usually takes me 3-4 taps to get it to activate :(
  • Udemy=5 App=1

I love Udemy, but the overall experience on the iPhone is just not nearly as good as on PC or android. Too many bugs/limitations and the UI is just crammed really bad. Plus that little window in the bottom with people presenting on some courses totally covers too much of the presentation and I can’t easily tell what I’ve already watched because it doesn’t appear to sync right with pc/android (or it doesn’t track the videos when I have to kill the app to get it to run the next video...)
  • Offline UX is lacking

    By mirandomthoughts
I love what Udemy has to offer, but it is lacking when it comes to offline use. I thought I’d had all the chapters of one of my courses downloaded (they were marked as such)—but a whole section failed to load when I tried to view it on the airplane, and a notice came up saying the download was “removed.” I also wish there was a download queue to make it clear what is downloading when you want to download multiple courses.
  • Awesome but needs cleaner design

Displays already purchased courses, when looking for courses to purchase.
  • Love the service BUT

The app has been annoying lately. Very buggy and laggy. Sometimes I want to watch courses in my phone instead of in my laptop but the app is terrible.
  • Bugs

    By shameckanelson
The developer has been working on fixing the bugs for almost 2 years. I’m an on the go learner. Unfortunately I spend most of my time trying to get the course to even play. Once it finally starts up, I have to deal with abrupt interruption due to the app consistently freezing. A 15 min video will take you 30-60 mins to complete on a good day.
  • Worst app ever, fantastic inexpensive courses

    By aeroponicMan
Dear developers, considering how many courses devoted to programming and solutions to make applications work more smoothly without crashing (like AWS), you’d think someone in this company would take the time to improve the app. My main complaints: video even when downloaded has this bug where if you leave the app to use another and leave it running in the background, you return to no video where the video is blacked out and only the audio works. There’s also this awful background buzzing noise which I really didn’t expect I’d hear for downloaded content. The app is still better than the website where the content crashes so often that it’s completely unwatchable.
  • Wonderful app for learning

    By SnookFan
As a lifelong learner I wished I had discovered this app sooner. I’m attempting to learn to play the piano after having not played since my childhood (many years ago). The course on learning to Read Music Fast! by Benedict Westenra is excellent. If this is any indication of the quality of lessons that I can expect then I will definitely purchase many more.
  • Useful, but has issues

    By JKorb
It’s nice to have my classes on the go. However, whenever I navigate from the app and go back the video is black with audio so I need to close the app or navigate away and back. They could also simplify their UI, just seems like they’re trying to do too much at once.
