It just works. No fuss, no issues. Great for RDP to Windows based clients. Great for connecting to my iMac as well.
  • Crashing

Everytime now that i close my macbook with one of the remote instances, when I open the macbook the program doesnt respond to the point where I have to force close it. This is an issue and needs to be addressed. Thanks.
  • No microphone redirection

    By Tozar199
A real big problem is there's no microphone redirection when RDP into a Microsoft box. I haven't used this app for much as most of my RDP are into MS desktop/server. I just keep using Microsoft Remote Desktop on my macbook pro for MS connections. This seems like a "problem" for at least 2-3 years now so I don't have much hope it'll be added in the future. Strange why it hasn't been fixed/added because most would think that would be a useful feature.
  • Terrible, terrible documentation

    By alanattcc
The only help appears to be the website. Its a disorganized mess of articles with no logical flow. I have two macs and a PC. I am able to remote into the PC from both Macs, but I cannot find any way to remote from one Mac to the other. I tried installing Jump Desktop Connect on one of the Macs - however, it doesn't seem to do anything and the statement that you can go to your account and find the link appears to be wrong. The app has numerous options and I'm sure I should be able to do what I want, so its even more frustrating that the documentation is so poor. On the plus side, when it works, its very good in terms of perforamance and stablity, so that's why I've given it two stars - otherwise it would be 1.

It does what it says it would. I helped my elderly mother remotely. She has a PC, I have a MAC. I was able to get in and work with the kinks that her PC had. I fixed everything while she watched in amazement. On these days of pandemic that our parents show little computer skills, this app comes as a lifeline to them.
  • Works Really Well

This remote access solution works really well for me. Easy to install and to manage. Recommended!

i used this app years ago and bought it again. When this app works it is five stars all the way. Setup is easy once you understand how this works. I needed to speak to customer support because i was getting so frustrated. We concluded that directions needed to be clearer to the user. We resolved my issue and support was fantastic helping me and my 87 year old dad. Let me tell you something with setup: 1. You Google Jumpdesktop connect to first install the software which lets you access your computer. This is the software you download one time on each computer that you will want to access remotely. Once you set that up, you got to step 2. Step 2 is download deskjump app. You follow the prompts. Once you have jump desktop, you can then access the computer you previoulsy downloaded jump desktop connect on. Another issue i had was with the name of the computer. If you don’t have the name exactly right, you can have an issue logging in. So, when you are in your dashboard of jump desktop, right click the computer you want to access. You will see a user name and then you might see a different computer name. The computer name is the name of the computer and then you use the password on that computer to login. If you have Catalina, you might have a few extra steps. They have instructions for Catalina. I said a mouthful, but it is actually easy if you do steps #1 and #2 in that order. Buy it is worth it.
  • Works!

Super simple, inexpensive Remote Desktop application. I use this when helping my mom with IT issues from across the country. Only once license is needed. The remote machines you control use a free lightweight client the person downloads locally. The Personal Connection pin number makes setup super easy. Had some odd keyboard behavior where I could type in web browsers but not in spotlight search boxes- minor issue, easily worked around- otherwise stable, responsive, inexpesive and easy to use!!! Thank You for making this!
  • Great App, Small Annoyances

    By scottdavid775
This is the best RDP app for Mac I've seen. It's a great replacement for mRemote, which my windows-based team uses. The only thing that annoys me is probably not solely Jump Desktop's fault, but the abiliy to copy/paste files from my remote machine to local sometimes doesn't work. It copies a blank 0KB file instead so we don't initially realize it hasn't worked... likewise, sometimes the drive mappings don't hold and have to restart app. Not a major issue. Also, should've seen this app was on Setapp first before buying. Oh well.
  • Highly reccomended

Using Jump on a Mac — >have to say this is the best RD solution I have used. While using Jump I feel no difference when working remotely compared working locally... except that my smart cards do not work. I would have given Jump 5 stars if there were support for redirecting smart cards like there is in MS Remote Desktop. As this feature is missing I always have to switch over to Microsoft Remote desktop which is not optimal :-(Hoping for an update where this issue is solved — then I will give Jump 5 stars :-)
