  • No recipe index?

Why get rid of the recipe index at the beginning?

Bin a long time subscriber to print and digital bought first 2 gourmet books 1965. Neither gourmet or Bon Appétit disappointed me. As a young bride and first dinner party was stuffed Veal roast with carrot lemon purée, potato gratin and baked Alaska. As a novice cook I totally under estimated the time it took for prep and brining it all to the table. Started at 6 pm all done around 10:30pm all my 8 guest including my were as drunk as can be
  • What the heck happened?

Recently resubscribed to the mag and wanted to revisit my old archived issues with the app. I thought my iPad app was messed up since all I could do was just flip pages but it upon reading other reviews Conde Naste really destroyed the functionality. The recipe index was perfect and now it’s gone.
  • Horrible magazine app

    By Db0044
Very difficult to maneuver within the magazine.
  • Worthless after the latest “update”.

    By TeeDub
We loved this app as we could email the recipes to each other in our family, discuss, and plan for new yummy things. That ability, along with the recipe index, links, everything that made the mobile app useful went away. I probably won’t renew as these changes just don’t fit our usage and lifestyle. Sad.
  • What happened to the recipe index?

Love BA but just realized there has been a change on the digital edition. There used to be a full page pictorial index with direct link to the page. What happened??????
  • App ruined. Canceling my subscription

    By sexlaw
I’ve subscribed to the app for almost 8 years (and have decades old print copies of the mag), and was willing to pay rather than find what recipes I could online because of the quality product. But when BA changed the app to a (slightly) glorified .pdf, they ruined it. It is much inferior to what one can do on the web. I’m sorry to go, and maybe someday if I happen to hear that BA has brought back a useful format/interface, I’ll resubscribe. But I won’t be holding my breath. 😢
  • “Upgrade” ruined a great app :(

Please restore the previous functionality! This new version is almost useless. Incredibly frustrating change to what was an excellent app.
  • My first review of an app. Ever.

    By handsomedan16
I never felt strongly enough about an app or changes made to an app to write a review before, but here we are. I realize times are tough in the world of print media. I’m assuming the app development team was jettisoned in an attempt to keep the magazine afloat financially. Still sad and disappointing to see the app change to a minimally functional PDF reader that only reads PDFs from BA. I used to tell people about how great the app was and how BA used the iPad format so well to make their content interactive and useful (remember kitchen mode??), but hey, at least I can still read the magazine on my device, so I guess it’s better than nothing. I’m glad they’re still putting out great YouTube content as well, just really wish they would bring the old app back.
  • Worst “up grade ever”

I loved the old apt- recipes were easy to find a sort. You could pull a clear user friendly recipe to read will cooking or a printable recipe to take when you shop Now your just a food a wine clone- endless scrolling to search back recipes in magazines Makes me wish it wasn’t free so I could have the pleasure of canceling I LOVE BA but feel ripped off - you had hands down the best cooking apt and now you are just one of the mediocre mass
