  • Really needs handwriting-to-text fixed. It’s been years...

I love OneNote, but I wish some features worked. One in particular that I see people have complained about for a long time. That issue would be write to text. It either doesn’t work, at all, some devices don’t even have that option, or it’ll select maybe three words out of an entire paragraph, you hit ok, and still doesn’t work. Long story short, hand writing to text doesn’t work, and it’s been a problem for years, as that’s all you see on the Internet about it. The fact that it still isn’t working after years have gone by, that shows arrogance and ignorance. Please, it would be an incredible feature to have working, if once and for all it would work/be fixed. One note would be used a lot more, have a much wider range of capabilities, and it’s simply an incredible feature if it would work. Thanks.

Update - I can start a list on my iPhone, then I can edit it on my iMac, and it still retains the properties of the iPhone so when I check the box, the item gets hidden. I still cannot the watch for my shopping list Old Review Below When I create a list on my iPhone, I get a nice list, when I check the box, the item is hidden. Works real nice in the grocery store as a grocery list. When the list is created on my Mac or iPad, synced to my iPhone, the check goes into the box, but it does not get hidden. This is inconsistent behavior. Apple Watch - A list created on my Mac or iPad, synced to my iPhone, does not show up as a checklist on my Apple Watch. A list created on my iPhone, shows up on my Apple Watch as a check list with checkboxes, but there is no way to check the box. This makes the Apple Watch UNUSABLE to me and I am very disappointed with this fact.
  • Great for writing notes not for PDFs

I use OneNote on my iPad with an Apple Pencil and it’s great for writing and typing notes. It writes well with the pencil and there are some very useful tools like the lasso select. My main problem is with annotating PDFs. Every PDF I’ve uploaded to OneNote on my iPad look slightly blurry especially zoomed in. None of the PDFs are blurry on any other app besides OneNote. Don’t want to look at or annotate blurry PDFs so I use other apps for that but it would be nice to be able to do it all in OneNote.

“Tap here to enter your password”... can’t log in to Sticky Notes... uninstall/re-install didn’t fix it, using same Microsoft account for both OneNote and Sticky Notes as I am on my desktop computers (with the 3.x version of Sticky Notes on desktop)... OneNote portion works fine... 5 stars otherwise
  • Can't live without it, but iOS 12.1.2 broke it.

Update 1/14/19 THANK YOU for fixing the bugs! App is now functional again. Update 12/23/18 Christmas Eve and trying to use my notebooks to make sure I’ve gotten everything done, and OneNote is constantly crashing. Not what I needed today... Once you figure out a groove with organizing your info, you'll never go back. Finally one place where I can keep everything!

I wrote a review yesterday after months of being annoyed with my app crashing. I still gave it 4 stars just wanted the bugs fixed finally. How about Microsoft sent me an update TODAY and the problem is fixed! Talk about fast! I have my favorite app back now for all my projects! Thanks so much! I’m writing a new review bc I can’t figure out how to update the previous one. 5 stars! Ps. Wanna consider a finger print scan to login ;)

Notes make my life easier by having all sort of records in one place. Easy to edit, write, simple format and great features .

I’ve recently gone back to school to finish my bachelors degree. This is a great class note book. A different note book for each coarse. It’s also good for general note taking and reminders. Lists too. Exporting pages from the modern one isn’t easy especially on the pc. It is easier on the iPhone because of its native ability to make a pdf out of almost any page. Now the old desktop version it is easier than the modern one. Neither version is as good as Notability at exporting or voice recordings. Notability isn’t on windows and I have a surface book 2. It’s a good program that needs improvement.
  • Was my go-to iPhone notes app but not for quite a while

Very functional, yes, but syncing with the cloud and especially with other devices is slow and unreliable. Microsoft’s sync issues are longstanding and legendary. No longer usable. Seems like things have gotten worse. Just noticed with new releases that it won’t work with apples Bluetooth keyboard although every other app on my iPad does. Touch Command or Enter and OneNote crashes losing some of what you had been typing. Not much improvement in a year and reliable frequent crashing is a show stopper.
