  • Love it.

Love it, but lots of playback bugs in 5.16 update. Scrubbing causes timer to roll on without playing audio or video, video fails to load, hangs while going from episode selection to playback, playback settings keep resetting and the menu itself hangs and is uncooperative. I didn't have any of these issues before this update. In fact, I have described it as surprisingly flawless to my friends, who use the abhorently buggy PS4 app. Hope it'll get fixed soon, and it probably will, as its otherwise amazing in how well it works compared to similar apps.
  • Ok but a few issues.

You must pay a $4.99 fee to activate device streaming but it seems to be per Apple ID as I was able to activate on my iPhone and iPad but only pay the fee once. The fee does not work across family sharing, my husband had to pay it again separately for his devices. Airplay isn’t an option with this app. Sometimes I can get it to work by mirroring my phone to my 3rd gen Apple TV but it’s clunky, buffers/freezes, or stops completely, and you have to keep your phone screen on and you can’t switch apps. (An Airplay option would let you turn off the screen or switch apps and still play the content to the TV as well as control it with the Apple TV remote.) If you have a newer gen Apple TV, the Plex app works fine for it so far so no airplay isn’t as big as an inconvenience. An even bigger Airplay issue is when I use a Bluetooth speaker to listen. It is extremely difficult to get the app to play through my Bluetooth speaker. (No other apps have the issues.) The app will randomly stop transmitting to the speaker, even though nothing has changed and there’s no reason for it to stop playing in the speaker, and suddenly switch to the device speaker. I have to forget the speaker and reconnect it multiple times before it works and if I pause the content I have to do it all over again. Only this app causes that to happen. It also randomly freezes completely and several times I have to force quit the app and try to get it to play again. My other streaming apps don’t have as many problems even with live tv. Also, when you play something the video doesn’t always show up, like the sound will play but the video doesn’t come up at all or it takes awhile to appear. Lastly, this app doesn’t always keep your progress perfectly tracked. It can be off by several minutes and sometimes it’ll lose it completely and you end up starting from the beginning, not really a problem just a nuisance sometimes.

Plex is awesome because you can download how much movies you want. Also you can download movies to watch if you don’t have internet. You can put them in different languages and also put subtitles. I love Plex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my server up and running again after a server malfunction. Now when I try to setup syncing with my photos it stats and does the first pic and then states it is complete. The photo count of synced photos is Zero and it says there are still 1078 to sync. It is Not syncing; please fix.

I can no longer open Plex on my iPhone XS Max. This last update rendered Plex inoperable. All I see is a black screen that says Plex. If I go to close the window out, I can see the Plex controls. When I click on the window, I get that black screen that says Plex. Have rebooted numerous times and forced closed the app.

  • Local server connections when the Internet is down

My home Internet isn’t working, so I can’t go online. However, even though my Plex server is on the same local network/router as Plex app on my phone, iPad, and TV, none of them are able to access the server. They all say that the server is unavailable. My SMB file sharing on the same Mac at the Plex server works fine, so it’s not a problem with my local network. I would think that playing files in Plex over the local network would not be affected by an Internet outage…
  • Flac 5.1 broken since "improved audio"

5.1 audio is great but it never took off as a music format... But... I love it and have tons of SACD's and DVD audio disks... I have spent many hours converting then all to 5.1 flac files only to have Plex recently break them so they all play as stereo... Please FIX! Once you fix I will fix my review to 5 stars.....
  • Latest iOS version broke all my Channels/Plugins - please revert

The main reason why I pay for Plex Pass is the use of Plex Channels.... the latest June 2019 update has broken all my Plex Channels/Plug-ins (previously available with prior iOS version). All I see is "No Content" with this update. Bring back / Revert this latest version or please fix this bug. I have been a loyal fan but the latest moves only frustrates me. The prior version is still loaded/working on my backup-device but completely useless on my main-device now. Please help... Thanks.
