  • New app is worthless

Since this new app appeared, I can no longer enjoy my Herald digital subscription. Pages freeze up constantly. After being a faithful reader of the Herald for over 50 years I will miss it, as I’m about to cancel due to the frustration of using this app. The former app worked just fine. Why was it changed?
  • This Would Be No Stars if It Didn’t Require A rating!

IS ANYONE AT THE MIAMI HERALD EVEN LISTENING? I wrote this review in December and the app has even gotten worse since then. Today, I had to close it out three times because I couldn’t get past the second page. Finally, I got a page or two farther and tried to read an article, but it locked up again. In comparison, the Sun Sentinel app works like a million bucks, so that will be my hometown paper from now on. What does it take to get them to fix this or acknowledge that they’re even working on it? From December: I have been reading the Miami Herald for 35 years, moved from the actual paper to online some years ago and always liked the experience. Since this last app change a few months ago, my experience is the worst I’ve ever had ON ANY APP! I don’t understand why they chose this unless it was to save money. The app locks up and I have to start over, it won’t bring up many of the articles when tapped on (must be to save money there), and often when I try to enlarge those articles, it goes off kilter and I can’t read the page. One of the things I hate the most is that I can no longer email an article to someone that I think would be interested in that topic. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve considered dumping the paper, but this has always been my go-to paper in South Florida. I also read the Sun Sentinel and used to think their app was basic compared to the MH, but now their app is far superior. PLEASE go back to the old app!
  • Simply the worst newspaper app ever

    By !Koz
I subscribe to the e-edition of 6 different newspapers. The Herald’s version is extremely user unfriendly and the “improvements” made things worse not better. It is extremely unstable and there are always difficulties in downloading. I must sign in each time with my user name and password. Everyone associated with it should be fired and anyone who hired them should also be fired. It is a complete embarrassment to the Herald.
  • Terrible!

I used to read the eEdition on my iPad every day. Since they changed the system I haven’t been able to read it once!!! Old app was much better.
  • Complete Trash

Another CNN garbage truck. The absolute worst.
  • Horrible app

Will probably cancel my subscription. NYT and Washington Post apps are user friendly. Sections and articles easily accessible . This app is a mess.
  • As bad as everyone says

    By Elwinna
I hate this app. I can’t find stories that I see posted on twitter. But I can’t click on twitter links cause even as a subscriber signed in I am told I’ve reached my monthly limit of 5. The video ads are loud and obnoxious. Why would you blast a loud ad when I click to read (not watch!) an article? No way to get out of it once it starts without closing the app. A total train wreck! Zero stars
  • Edition app

No need to rewrite the input and concerns already sent to the Herald - including an email to the Editor - with no reply. Plain and simple the app is the worst I have seen! Difficult and unmanageable!!! Please do something about it!!!
  • Bad to Worse

    By Gabriel_MB
This app has gone from bad to worse. The format has always been terrible and now the “eEdition” which is a replica of the paper version is out of focus and difficult to use. The Sports on the Air section of the Sports Page is about 2 weeks out of date. I have left comments on the Help page but they seem to fall on deaf ears. One star is too generous for this app.
  • Annoying Video Ads

    By Old Boy Himself
As a paying subscriber, I deeply resent the obnoxious video ads. No way that I can see to turn them off.
