  • Poor offline reading approach to ZINIO coding

    By Filter_Emphasis
I often have poor or no wifi reception in transit, where I am reading using ZINIO. ZINIO is built to immediately go online when opened, and if it detects an online connection will attempt to load home page first. If the wifi signal is poor as happens regularly in a public transit situation, the reader gets to read nothing and watch a blank white screen for minutes, before the application times out and shows the library of saved publications. This is beyond frustrating, this is bad programming. I keep many publications saved to disk for exactly the times when there is poor or no internet signal. But this app ignores the obvious of quickly offering the library of locally stored files to the reader, instead persists in attempting to stay online at all costs and load the live updated home screen. If there was another way to read these publications easily, I would jettison this poorly arranged ZINIO app promptly. ZINIO programmers your code needs work, people are not always in good reception areas and still want a good prompt reading app. This is current not the solution. Developers please note this an internet on, poor signal situation not a internet off, reading offline situation - think about this, the two are opposites online / offline. Your response to me showed you do not get the difference, so you don’t get it at all.
  • “Near” Adult Content Warning!

    By Caligati
I have enjoyed ZINIO and my digital magazines for some time. However ZINIO has taken the stance of “SEX SELLS”. When you or your children open the app it displays ‘Maxim’ magazine front and center. You may not have seen this at your local store because they place them in the back, covered. The cover of this magazine displays women who are only covered to the extent of the law. They are as equally nude as ‘Playboy’ or ‘Penthouse’ magazine. But the publisher has labeled them PG-13 because inside the women are 99% nude and not 100% nude. Hundreds I’ve magazines and this is the filthy trashy level ZINIO has stooped too for $$$. Personally, I am not a prude or a saint, but I certainly have much greater respect for women than this. I hope those who read this do too. If so you won’t find respect within ZINIO. Too bad because without that fault the app would be very good.
  • Terrible customer service

    By David in Norfolk
My 12 issue Automobile magazine subscription was cancelled after 5 issues and they refused to refund the issues that I never received
  • Beware : Fraudulent use of credit card

    By ronnie2255

  • Issues stop coming for no reason

    By barrouin
In the middle of the subscription period issues just stop coming. No with one magazine but several different publications
  • Anytime the app screws up you loose everything

    By Dan De
Anytime there is a problem with the app and things don’t show up properly, if you sign out and back in again you loose everything including your bookmarks. You can re download your magazines but the bookmarks are gone forever.
  • Magazines keep disappearing

    By In need of reminders
At least once a month I go into download a magazine and I’m not able to access the newest magazine. Very very frustrating!
  • Disappearing Features

    By Jazzy000009
This used to be a solid service/application. Features have been disappearing with recent upgrades. Used to be able to save/forward liked articles to my email for later reading. The ‘bookmark’ feature not very organized or intuitive. Time to say goodbye Zinio....
  • Well this app does not work

To many problems with downloads and not getting new issues when you pay for them. Having to contact support all the time gets annoying. Fix the issues ZINIO or loose another subscriber.
  • Years Later still buggy

    By Climberpty
I get 16 different magazines some on the ZINIO platform some not. The only ones I have issues with are ZINIO. They don’t download or download then disappear and in all cases I have to contact support and they do something on their end and it works again. Then they bug the heck out out you to see if it worked. I travel for work so sometimes it may be a day or two before I can back to it to check. Meanwhile the emails are piling up. The latest was I got a new issue of Eating Well. Started to read it. Went back in the next day to continue reading and it was gone. So I contacted support ( thinking here we go again) and the initial return comment was there was indeed an issue and it was being turned over to production to see what happened. I got an email this morning saying “Sorry that issue is not included in your subscription.” So they took it back. ON CHRISTMAS EVE NO LESS. I really don’t like the fact that they can go into my iPad and remove things. using another analogy if you bought a new piece of electronics and they gave you an extra HDMI cable, for example, “by mistake” if it was ZINIO they would come to your home and rip it out of your hands...
