PLAN YOUR PERFECT BICYCLE ADVENTURE If you are craving a long distance 4,200-mile cross-country bicycle route like the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail or a shorter 256-mile off-road adventure along a portion of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, this is the app for you. Travel confidently with at-your-fingertips cycling-specific info like elevation profiles, distance, riding conditions, location of bike shops, sources for food and water, and listings of overnight accommodations including camping facilities, small hotels, and cyclists-only lodging. REAL-TIME WIND AND WEATHER The app includes wind and weather data along the routes and severe weather warnings that include thunderstorm, flood, and fire information. PLAN YOUR OWN UNIQUE AND AUTHENTIC ADVENTURE Detailed route descriptions and service layers reveal all the beauty you’ll encounter along the way. You can plan each day to include various excursions and scenic stops such as waterfalls, hot springs, lakes, or local art museums. The Adventure Cycling Route Network features rural and low-traffic established bicycling routes through some of the most scenic and historically significant terrain in North America. Adventure Cycling’s Routes & Mapping department is constantly working on research and development of new routes as well as the maintenance of the 47,000 miles of existing routes.

I just completed the Southern Tier route and used the bicycle navigator app. Initially I thought it was unnecessary. I then met someone in Austin Texas who is using it for the same trip. Once I saw the value of it I purchased it and never looked back. It saved me numerous times from going off route and getting lost. You always know where you are and where you need to go when you’re using this app. It is simply a must have in my opinion. I love it!

App could be sooo much better. It’s barely useful. Buggy. I have to use another gps app with it for actual use cycling. Biggest complaint: app won’t auto- rotate to let you know which fork in the path you should take while riding. Have to stop. Orient the map. Then proceed.

Good start for this app. I’ve been using it for a month now on the Atlantic coast trip. Suggestions Have heading up display. Have a different color for south to north streets you need the paper maps as well to know this why Have voice directions all other travel maps have this All in all your off to a good start love not having to use the maps Gets me into camp every night.

I bought the Arkansas High Country North route for $10. It’s just a purple background with no route or mapping information. Nowhere to ask for help or clarification. Wasted money and time.

Trying to create a route and the app will not let me select any points of location.
  • Not what I expected

I guess this could be used in addition to the adventure cycling maps but that’d be redundant in my opinion. This is not a substitute for cue cards. Waste of $6 for map section
  • Lack of any real content. Waste of money.

Purchased a map for the Utah Cliffs Route within this app and was given a purple line. There’s no effective route description. No road names, altitude change, previous known road conditions... $6 for a purple line. I’m going to have to match this line to something I can create on gmaps, spend a few hours, and may not even ride the correct route. Thanks for nothing.
  • Not intuitive hard to use

There doesn’t seem to be any intro guide or tips to get you started. And there’s no intuitive way to search for a place and get a good bicycle route there. Not sure what the point of this app is, other than compiling park loop maps. I can get those from parks.
