  • Does not work in Landscape Mode on iPad Pro 12.9

    By Foodhurtsme
This app doesn’t work well on an iPad Pro 12.9 in landscape mode. It shows everything as if in Portrait mode. I always use my iPad Pro in landscape mode because I have a Logitech keyboard attached to the iPad Pro. Please support all devices in both landscape and portrait modes. Thank you.
  • It’s free

    By markbyrn
The positive here is it's free and it 'scores' you as you repeat the phrases. As a beginners lesson though, you might want to explain Pinyin and the vowel marks for the various tones.

Though it is a bit slow, it still seems to work.

  • Good job, Microsoft. Keep improving it.

Overall, a great entry into the learning Chinese app space. Audio files can take a few seconds longer to download sometimes, and that’s the only hang up I’ve had so far.
  • Need work..,

    By cpacfeguy
...crashes, freezes and voice and sound not working.
  • Not ready to be released

The app is very slow. Too slow for those experienced with Chinese and too unforgiving for those new to Chinese. Needs more development effort before it is put on the App Store.
  • Still have lots of work to do!

I downloaded this because I want to support Microsoft and I’ve been wanting to re-learn Mandarin for a while. It’s obviously still in development, but I got to about 17/35 of greetings and it started to not respond to my touch and then lag, and then just skip to the next question without me being able to answer the last one. I would also make the text a lot larger and bolder because I have great eyesight but could barely read the text, especially if the text is white on a color background. All that being said it has a lot of potential and I’ll keep up to date with it!
