    Sam Harris teaches the practice of meditation in as rational and understandable means possible. This course is for anyone who wants to better comprehend the matter of their mind and conscious experience as a human being. I’ve been meditating for over five years and have attended a ten day retreat before, but continue to come back to the basic lessons, as well as the longer guided sessions found within this trove of meditation instruction. The talks themselves are worth the price of admission!

    Commitment to a daily practice of any kind has always been difficult, having been raised in a chaotic household. When most of your life experiences are centered around survival, thriving is a foreign concept that seems unattainable without someone to guide you in a new direction. I’ve found the straight forward and secular theories and discussions that Sam Harris has structured in the app to be extremely powerful tools that should be able to help anyone struggling to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to thoughts and emotions. Dramatic emotional responses become less useful to the logical and rational mind and I feel this might be especially useful for poorly read labor class folks (like myself) that don’t often have a way to get in touch with their inner being the way educated white collar classes do.

    Sam Harris puts forth an app that not only engages with its audience on a personal level, teaches the most interesting and helpful practices, and helps it’s audience understand the value OF those practices... but each sentence uttered by him convinces you that he unselfishly and emphatically wants people to reach their potential with the material he has to offer. I follow Sam for his sincerity, his value for knowledge, and his stand against ignorance, but the primary feeling I get from this app, is that he is a man who cares. The app works, and spending time on yourself to practice is worth it.

    I am a long term Zen student, and have perhaps struggled more than your average Zen student because my teacher is long distance. Nevertheless I have been and continue to be a serious and earnest student, attending silent retreats 2 times a year. Despite my years of experience and my wise and compassionate teacher, this app has done so much for me, filling in many gaps in my knowledge. I have learned a lot about mindfulness of course, and how it compares and contrasts with Zen. But the best part is the deep dives Sam takes in his conversations with meditation masters of all stripes. I often feel as if Sam has read my mind as he asks so many of the questions I would ask if I had that master in front of me! His daily guided meditations are complementing my own zen sits and I am so so grateful for all the work he continues to put into this app. And for his obvious compassion for his fellow sentient beings! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    I have really been enjoying this app. It is very different from other guided meditation apps I’ve used. I’m currently on day 13 of the 50 day Introductory course and I am loving this and look forward to my meditation every day. It really gets better starting on day 10. I have shared the app with a good 4 or 5 people already. I highly recommend.

    I don’t know how to fully describe this app. There is something about the way that Sam takes you through this journey of meditation and the different techniques or lenses he presents to you while you’re meditating that makes this app incredibly powerful. He makes me feel capable and appreciative and excited for meditating like I never have been before. To Sam and team thank you. I think you are doing incredible work. I don’t know if I’m in a better place now to receive this type of instruction or the way you deliver it just resonates with me. But I actually get excited to meditate now. So thank you. You are doing incredible work.

    I love this app and it lets you take such a wide range of approaches to meditating, from guided with regular lessons in the philosophy to a simple start and end bell. You can customize time, too. I’ve logged 3.5k minutes meditating today.
