  • Strange incentive but interesting app

    By Greffitus
So far so good, although I’ve only tried this for about 3 days. It seems like the app could stand to wait a bit longer before asking for reviews since this seems to be a long term app. I find the incentive to spend kind of weird but I like the idea of the app a lot. I found out about this through using plant nanny (water drinking app) and I like how the makers offer cute and fun help for pretty serious events; drinking water, saving money, and getting some exercise. The app itself is pretty easy to use and even the ads are delivered in an interesting way with a little sales man just trying to do his job; definitely something I’ve not seen before. It’s easy to input your spending and everything is tallied and kept well organized. I don’t particularly care for the sheer quantity of nonsense notifications you get. In terms of the odd incentive: you get a new building for every new input. An input is some amount that you have spent that day, so I tend to treat it as each new receipt. The goal is to track your spending which usually implies that you probably spend more than you need to, but the app itself is having you build a little town where the way you get new buildings is by inputting your receipts. I can see how it’s just trying to get you to remember your spending habits but I can also see how it would incentivize more spending for those people who get satisfaction from getting a new building and making their town bigger. Again, this review is only three days in so I don’t know what else may happen to curb obsessive town building. With a little self control this is fun and not a big deal. I’m playing for smallest town possible in the long run. Overall: The app is clean looking and very well designed. Easy to use. They make a point of being gender friendly. The notifications are a bit much. The tutorial is tolerable. The app does what it says it does and provides entertainment in the meantime. I find it useful so far.

I actually like opening it and playing. I also realize I spend too much money.
  • Scan receipts?

    By Samarjith147
I’m not monthly subscription for an app that doesn’t allow you to scan and save receipts for every expense despite its perks.
