Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network. ++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle. ** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine. Bad app! Would not work on my phone. Every time we stopped to see a siteI had to re-start my phone and even then it worked only half the time.
  • No worries

I was concerned about driving and touring the National Parks on my own; I’m used to having a navigator control the maps and direct me. I have been so comfortable and have not even needed to look at maps while in the parks, and when I went on a ranger guided hike I was told information I already knew by listening to the audio while driving. My experience was totally enriched by using the audio guide!
  • Fantastic App-well worth the small investment

We loved how well this app worked. The parks have little cellular service, but this works on GPS. The narrator guides you to all the points of interest as you approach them. His commentary includes a lot of historical information and interesting facts about the geology and wildlife you will encounter along the way. For folks visiting these parks for the first time, this app is a must have!
  • Fabulous!

We toured both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and this app added tremendously to our experience. We named the narrator Scout. There were many areas of interest we simply would have missed if not for Scout. I highly recommend this app; it was money very well spent!
  • It was exactly what we didn’t know we needed.

This app made a huge difference on our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. I highly recommend this app. Great direction and advice with some interesting facts about the areas and history. But not too much..just the right amount of commentary and suggestions.

This is a great app that is very easy to use. Download it while you have a good signal, which you won’t have in the park. It tells you what are the ”must see” stops as well as other places of interest. The explanations of the park’s geology and the mechanism of geysers was well presented and easily understood by a lay person. The GPS driven app always knew where you were and which direction you were heading, and adjusted its narration accordingly. When approaching an intersection it clearly gave all the information needed to direct you toward the sights that you wanted to see. A minor suggested improvement would an option that could be turned on the give the distance to the next rest facility.

We have told all our friends about this ap. We used it for Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons. It was like having a tour guide in the back seat! The information was spot on and the beauty of traveling at ones leisure can’t be beat. We laughed when we left the parks as we felt like we lost our back seat passenger.

Well Gypsy you truly delivered for my wife and I as we toured these true treasures of our country. You where fun, instructive and reassuring to have along. Our little under a week in the parks was packed with the experiences that your commentary and direction enhanced at every turn. This was our 50th Anniversary gift to each other and you helped make it very special. Thank You. P.S. As a long time narrator and VO artist I would love to know who was our guide? Great work.
