  • Works sometimes

Large epub ebooks (aprox. >100mb) fail to convert "bus error". Wish it worked all the time then it would be phenominal.
  • Doesn't save formating

It doesn't save the formating when going from pdf to either epub or mobi. Waste of money.
  • app

App is slow. And, can only process a single file at a time. Feels like it just kicks out the document to an online web processor, which you could do for free without buying the app. It also doesn't let you specify where to save the output. I did not find any added value in a stand alone app.
  • Trash

The program won't convert files up to the sizes it mentions (the program uploads, but fails during the conversion process). Even if you had small files, I had pdfs I was hoping to covert to mobi, but the program rearranges all the content so it is glitchy and unreadable. Not even worth downloading.
  • not free for most conversions, charges after download

charges for most of the conversions, after the 'free' download of the app
  • Almost Useful to Create mobi Files

At $10 for a lifetime license, The Ebook Converter could be a great tool. But it misses the mark. In converting, it identified a number of slips I'd made in formattting. But it also failed to format copy I'd handled correctly. All the chapter titles after chapter 6 were offset to the right... for no reason. The app insists on creating a 2nd, non-functional, TOC at the end of a file. And the title page refuses to format consistently. Which looks like crap. On the plus side, the app is incredibly easy to use... and I haven't explored beyong converting a docx file to mobi. But that's the main reason I bought this app. To those who complain the free functions are limited, come on. Do you expect everyone to hand you everything for free? App developers have to make a living, too. And $10 for a lifetime license is a freaking bargain. Here's the deal: No app should have major faults... even at $10. On the other hand, if the developer cleans up these bugs, they'll have a killer app on their hands.
  • What an absolutely program

Best program going … Converts all my books easily. Great if you want to convert several to pdfs and use then in Mac's Books.

  • Docx to Epub: Mission accomplished

    By Lordbiffles
I read books (draft manuscripts) on my phone to give authors feedback, and this app painlessly converted a docx into an epub for me. Cool beans, thx.
  • Does not work.

Any PDF of even moderate size will require you to make an In App Purchase for a “seasonal” or “lifetime” pass. The app is effectively a pay app that presents itself as otherwise. That isn’t the problem. The program simply does not convert as advertised. Even the most plain text of PDFs cannot convert to various edoc files. I experimented with various files over the course of six hours while working. The success rate for conversion was 15%. That does not warrant a purchase.
