Cameras are very solid. I have 4 throughout my house and they work great. I also have Arlo pro cameras and nest cameras to compare it to. You really cant beat the cost. Only a few gripes. 1. Must buy separately a memory card because lets be serious nobody wants another recurring payment for cloud video storage. 2.From what i could find you can only go as big as a 32GB memory card which only allows for 2 days of continuous video storage. Would like to have gone bigger for longer storage capacity. 3. Motion detection is slower than arlo pro so if i run by the camera it probably wont record what just happened. Also i cant limit how long the video will be recorded for if there is motion so if it detects motion i cant say to record the previous 1 minute and the next 5 minutes. But to be fair neither does the arlo pro. 4. Field of view is not as wide as i expected, compared to my arlo pro i lose a couple feet of area caught by the camera. Its not bad but in my living room im almost tempted to put two yi cameras just to catch everything. 5. Outside of a few picky thing like that you cant beat a $20 camera and a $7 memory card for what your getting. It actually competes with my $200 arlo camera. And in some aspects beats my arlo like the two way audio. Speaker works better on the yi than my arlo. The only thing i have not used alot is motion detection because like i said earlier its somewhat delayed so i just choose to do continuous recording. If yi would add more detailed type settings to the way these cameras record they would hand down have the best cameras out there regardless of the price. Hope this review helps you decide whether or not to get one.
  • Away Mode Won’t Work

Every time I select the away mode, the app tells me I have to disable my pin code in order to do this function. The same thing happens when I go from away mode to home mode. I have to manually go in and select motion detection now every time I select AWAY mode because I sure as heck am not disabling my pin code so hackers can have access to my cameras.
  • History scan still broken after 6 months

One of the main expectations of a security camera is being able to check your footage history and scrub to previous recordings right? Yeah forget about that this app doesn’t do that at all. Ever since i updated to a new phone (iphone 11) the timeline resets to the very beginning no matter where you seek to on the history. I have contacted support 5 times and written bad reviews and developers just ignore you. Will never buy a Yi Camera ever again.
  • Stopped working

Not sure what happened, but this app use to be to the point and loaded up fine. Now nothing is loading. I have 6 cams and now I can’t bring up any of them on this app. I’m pretty sure the cameras work fine because I hear the shutter switch when turning on/off the lights. Hopefully this issue gets fixed soon. If not I will have to switch brands.

Now I can't even see me alerts. Even with a SD card can't see anything

I like the app and camera but recently the app has been causing my phone to crash and reboot. I hope that this can be fixed. I have deleted the app for now.
  • Stars Upon Thars...

One could expect more stars in the (i)Clouds for Yi if they would do but a couple of (what we see to be) simple feats: FIRST, fix the delay in open response between open (view) requests and what appears to be an excessive buffering action; which oft times requires requester to close/reopen app in order to get a successful open. NEXT, have your developers write a release for iPad users to be able to use this app with automatic orientation; current versions only allow for portrait viewing -which are extremely annoying, not to mention limiting in (full picture) scope.
  • Slow and glitchy

I don’t understand how this app has so many great reviews, but it’s one of the slowest apps I’ve had to deal with. I have an iPhone 11 so there’s no reason it’d be an issue with my phone. Extremely frustrating. It’s hardest to load when I’m away from home. It’s important too because I need to check on my baby. Definitely 1 star
  • App issues

App is now running slow, notifications no longer are coming through and I can not see my Cameras anymore. This is the second time the app has stopped sending us push notifications. Other then these issues, the cameras are actually really great.
  • Terrible!

I’ve been using yi home for over 2 years finding fair app service & hardware until today. New update is catastrophe making camera pretty much unusable with app covered with advertising. On fast data connection Camera load Time takes 60-90 seconds making it unusable for home security purposes. If you get motion alert want to see what’s going on , good luck with that.
