  • Wow very disappointing

I don’t write reviews but I will this time. Very complicated to install. In the end I gave up! Not before it messed up two devices. Cancelled the subscription, but wasted 6.99.

The free features work as advertised and were fairly fast and easy to setup. I upgraded to premium so that I could limit text messaging, certain apps like Snapchat and have access to the family locater. The upgrade process is far more time consuming and even after attempting various troubleshooting techniques from the FAQs section on the website I still never got the family locater to work. On a monthly subscription based service I feel like I shouldn’t have to take hours to try and set something like this up. If I had the kind of time in my day to sit around with my kids phone and a computer trying to figure out why the app’s features aren’t working, I would be able to just stand over the kid all day and wouldn’t need this app. The family locater feature needs another look from the programmers/coders. It should tap the phones GPS and lock the privacy settings so the kid isn’t able to access the location settings.
  • There’s better.

The free version is basically pointless, with only one block you can schedule. So for instance, you can block access at bedtime but not at school. You can edit the time to block access at different times but you’d have to remember to switch times everyday. So I upgraded to the 1.99 version (mom of 3 girls I needed an easier way 😂) but it’s just as pointless as the free one to be honest. Although you get more scheduled blocks, it doesn’t block texting. Which my preteen does a lot of. Other apps have it where when it’s break time a message pops up and the only thing the kid can access is calling out in case of emergencies. I like that way more and say I did want to give her the ability to text at school but not at bedtime I could do that. With texting not being blocked by the app, my daughters could still be using their phones, when they’re supposed to be sleeping. The 6.99 version gives you more options and probably is great but I think I’m going back to the app I had before this one, I didn’t know how good I had it.
  • stopped working but still taking my money!

I’ve been paying for premium for months but all of a sudden locking the messages don’t work anymore when it used to. It has stopped locking text messages for a while and I just found out about it. I pay for premium specifically so I can lock text messages on my daughter’s phone at bed time but now I know it hasn’t even worked in a while and they’re still charging me every month for premium! I regret paying premium and I regret recommending this app!

Literally took 5 minutes for our teen to “unpair” his phone from the parent app, making it effectively useless. No way to lock the profile the app installs on the child’s phone. So he is free to remove it whenever he chooses and unpair his phone. At least the app notifies you when it happens for all the good that does.
  • Great App!!

This is a great app for controlling your kids usage of the phone. My only complaint is how easy it is for the kids to remove it from their device. It would be nice if there were a way to require a passcode or something to be able to remove it.
  • Challenging to start, yet it’s the best out there right now

The concepts are great, but it’s not easy getting started and implementing the app. Once implemented, the premium app is well worth it. It is very expensive, yet the addictive properties of cell phones demand accompanying education in self-control, and this app is the best out there for now. The website has videos pulling your heartstrings about your relationship with your kids. Unfortunately the website is not so friendly when it comes to finding the instructions for using the app. One needs to bumble around until one runs into them at the bottom of the home webpage, because they’re not even labeled. App support responds quickly, but they send you generic instructions about the topic you’re inquiring about. With a little persistence they may write back with an actual answer, but such effort shouldn’t be necessary for something that will cost upward of $500 to cover one child’s teen years with the premium app monthly charges. Alas, until something else comes along, this seems to be the best app for parental control, so I’m recommending it.
  • Always needing premium useless without it

I saw this app from a YouTube video. Me being a teenager I decided to get this app to mess with my little brother’s phone. Installed the parent app on my iPhone and the kid app on his android phone. You can’t block anything on the child’s phone with the parent app with a free account. All you can do is block a child or set the only schedule. You can’t block anything it only says it’s blocked. When I have it set to blocked, all it does on the kids phone is show a cloud covering the sun in the app and that’s it. Nothing else. Now premium costs $7 a month which isn’t that bad for parents. If you seriously can’t control your child’s device usage then there is a problem. Instead of spending $7 for an app to disable the device, just make the child give the device to the parent when it’s using it too much. Not that hard. If you get the premium version of this then you can actually block apps. On the android, if you tried to open a blocked app when the blocked mode is enabled, then the app will partially open and give you a screen saying you will have free time tomorrow. It works well for blocking apps. One problem with it is even when granted access you can’t go into the storage settings on the phone, it will just bring the ourpact screen again. This would be a problem with a low storage device like the phone I was using this with. If it runs out of storage and you can delete anything, then the phone will just go into a loop of error messages that would never be able to be gone. This app works well for parents that are just cruel or they can’t control their child’s usage. For the kids end it just ruins the phone. If you want to delete the app you have to sign out of your account on it.
  • Great App!
