Don’t pay for this app until it gets rid of ads
  • Double espresso please!

Brilliant idea. I will sign up for sure but 10 stories would be better than 6. At least expand the number of headlines a bit.
  • Great for quick news

It’s hard to find substantial but short articles. Right now, Espresso seems to be the best at it. This is for when you don’t feel like committing to a full article, but still want to learn the latest facts.
  • Best News App

Reading the news on this app is one of the best parts of my day. I would highly recommend this highly researched and well executed app.
  • Great app, would be better with audio

Nicely made app. Doesn’t crash and works well. Would be perfect with audio.
  • Exceptional

  • Boiled down to a science

I love this side app, hooked along with the Economist issues, gives me a good quick brief in the mornings before I get down time to open my long form issue. Different versions of a great thing are always welcome. Shout out to the writers and editors, excellent journalism, editing, and writing work. A steady rock in the rough seas of news lately.
  • Not getting better ....

    By Vizitei
I have used the app for at least 5 years now. It’s my usual cycling companion. Little by little I have watched the engineering decline and judgement grow worse. Bluetooth buffering has been a consistent flaw that they can’t seem to get right. On certain devices when there is a pause, the resumption is delayed. Poor QA practices. UI is not really improving and in the audio section is plain bad. I pay for the subscription. Can I expect not to have to “swipe left” to avoid the upfront ad? The swipe is poorly done so 3 out of times you end up clicking. That’s called a clickbait - is that Economist wishes? When first introduced, it was annoying. Now that it is always shown even when you are simply returning to continue on the article you were reading or listening to, it’s just plain offensive. You think that extra half a cent worth the damage to you brand’s image? Poor judgement on the app diminishes a great magazine.
