  • New to Cricut

I am new to the world of cutting machines; got the maker for xmas and love it...I find the software easy to use and I am learning more about it each day. I use the videos on cricut’s site and you tube to learn the the ins/outs of the software. I am impressed with the cricut site & documentation found online. So far so good; no issues to report. I work w/ software everyday & know bugs happen; but my experience so far has been great! Keep it up!
  • Cricut App is Great

I just got my maker for Christmas 2 months ago so I am still learning how to use it. The app is so easy to use. I use it on my phone to design things while I’m away from my maker and then of course to cut things. Sometimes on my iPhone I have trouble selecting things but it’s probably just because of the screen size. My only request would be a way to favorite cricut projects. Add a little heart or someway to favorite projects that cricut offers.

  • Resizes Uploaded Files

    By AndroidBound
I recently purchased printable planner stickers from an Etsy shop. In order to use the stickers in my planner the images must maintain their original size. Every time I upload the images into Design Space the dimensions of the image are resized to a ridiculously larger size. This happens every time I try to upload a .svg, .png, and .jpg. I contacted Cricut and spoke to Rohit KH who said it was the purchased Etsy file and not Design Space. Determined to prove it was the Design Space software (iPad and PC) I used Photoshop and Illustrator to create and upload my own original images into Design Space. My original images were also resized when uploaded to Design Space. The “dimensions” of the picture were changed such that you can’t resize the image once it’s in Design Space and get the original dimensions (just in case anyone who reads this thinks this is a solution). The dimensions varied greatly from the original image even after using Design Space to resize the image. After wasting several hours adjusting an image thinking I could get the original dimensions spot on, I quit, because I couldn’t. I will update this review if this problem is fixed. In the meantime if you plan on cutting dimension specific images, I suggest you NOT use Cricut Design Space. **UPDATE** After 2 weeks of determination (GATech degree = no technology will ever get the best of me) I was able to print and cut my planner stickers. I cropped the image to about half the sheet of stickers and then uploaded the image into Design Space, and after about 15-20 minutes of adjustments (the next set should only take about 5 minutes) I got the size close enough to use the stickers in my planner. IDK, I was extremely close to purchasing a competitor’s product but refused because frankly I’ve invested way too much in Cricut products (Maker, Explore Air 2, Expression, Create, and of course cartridges and images). Cricut needs to fix this (I purchased a $400 machine, so I expect the software to perform as it should ), but for now I’m going to move the competitor’s product to my “Save for later” list just in case.

I love everything about working in the app! It’s so easy to move things around and line stuff up with the x/y guides. I’m still very new to the cricut world so this helps me so much!!
