Train your brain with BrainHQ from Posit Science—the most rigorous program available for better brain health, and the only one backed by more than 100 scientific papers showing benefits - including the breakthrough NIH-funded ACTIVE study. Now with new features that contribute to your brain fitness success!

BrainHQ represents the culmination of 30 years of research in neuroscience and brain health. Top scientists from around the world helped to develop and test the BrainHQ exercises. The result: a training system that comprehensively improves brain performance, from the most basic elements of perception through the most complex elements of memory, attention, and cognitive function.

No other brain fitness program can match BrainHQ in scientific proof. More than 100 publications from independent, randomized controlled trials have shown that the exercises and assessments in BrainHQ drive real change. These changes include: • cognitive improvements, such as better memory and faster processing speed • real-world improvements, including safer driving and improved quality of life • physical brain changes, like healthier white matter and more coordinated neurons.
All of this means that BrainHQ works—in laboratory studies, and in the lives of everyday people:

•"BrainHQ is a no-brainer must-have in my book…This training has expanded my visual, fine-tuned my audio and even my reflexes seem to be getting faster. BrainHQ is fun and gives me the challenges I need to keep my brain working out on a daily basis." - C. MacDonald

•"Only a few months into the BrainHQ exercises the difference is clear, this isn’t left to speculation, I saw drastic improvements…and my family has noticed a strong improvement." - A. Amitrano

And leading publications agree: “Our testers concluded that Posit's product—one of the few so far to undergo clinical trials and peer-reviewed research—had the firmest scientific grounding.” - Wall Street Journal
The BrainHQ app helps you set and achieve your brain training goals—so it not only works, it works for you.
Each exercise adapts to your performance and gets more challenging as your performance improves, just like a personal trainer for your brain.
The training is designed to fit into your life: train for just 5 minutes in your spare time, or do a complete workout in an hour.
BrainHQ is a free download, and includes a free exercise every day.

  • Thank you!

    By auntiekeraisawesomesauce
Over a decade ago, I started having a whole lot of medical symptoms in all systems of my body. They were bad enough that every week I was at a new specialist eventually ending up at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I had a lot of scares, but to this day, despite a countless myriad of tests, I only know what I don’t have (along with some diagnoses of symptoms but no answer to their origin). One of the most frustrating symptoms is my loss of memory. I used to speak before large groups of people, write curriculum, and have relatively intelligent conversations. I was a people person. I love to be with people! I had a good job that required the things I mentioned above along with traveling, meeting new people daily, and problem solving on the fly. And, without trying to sound egotistical, I was very good at my job. But that has all changed. Groups of people overwhelm me, I get worn out. Relationships, friends, the very thing I have always required to function, now cause me to shut down. I no longer have a job. I am on disability. And I hate every bit of it. I WANT to work. I WANT my life back. I WON’T except this. But what can I do about it? Doctors don’t know. But someone has to. So every time I hear about something that might be an answer of some sort, I jump on it. I research. I read everything I can get my hands on. So what does all of that have to do with this app? I’ll tell you. Recently I had been reading “The Brain that Changes Itself” by Dr. Norman Doidge. In it, he spoke of schools that Dr. Michael Merzenich had developed, based on his studies of brain plasticity, that “coached” the brain to retrain itself. I kept thinking, “I wish I could go to that school.” And then it happened. Dr. Doidge mentioned that Dr. Merzenich was in the process of developing a website to help people with things such as memory building! So, of course, I immediately looked up the website, but instead of a website it took me to this app (the book was printed a few years ago and the developers had apparently gotten a lot further than just a website). I have only been using it for a short time, but I have already seen significant improvements! I am so excited to be able to at least get the relationship part of my life back! I am still sick, but seeing improvement in this area renews my hope for the others. Thank you for this gift!!!
  • Games GREAT. App UI is atrocious

    By Petro 23856
I’ve been participating in the games in this app for about a month. I find the games and the training quite useful and helpful. I also like the statistics that it provides based on my progress. But the app, though good in its ability to render games accurately, has little bugs all over the place that make it feel like it’s a half done product. Four instance, today is marked off as completed, and when I swiped backwards to see how I did last week, it changed the date to January 2012. That is obviously not last week. That is just one of many little things that make the app annoying. I will continue playing the games because I can put these little annoyances aside, however for a company to have an app that basic functionality does not work properly is ridiculous. If it can’t do it correctly, simply remove that feature from the app. Make it so that to see your progress you have to go to the website. I would much preferThe app to do what it does well and leave everything else off rather than having an app that does somethings really well and others ridiculously poorly.
  • Needs improvement and better customer service!

    By Lil Ole
I’ve been using these programs since Posit Science launched the CD versions back in the Dark Ages. The iPad version is more convenient, but some of it is virtually unusable—esp the auditory exercises, which often are too garbled to be useful. Yes, even with headphones. And some exercises never were very good, e.g. the facial recognition and the conversations among people sitting at a table supposedly talking about friends—both annoying and too inane to remember. That said, the exercises overall do make a difference, which is why I return to them every 3 years or so. Next time, though, I likely will try a different company unless these problems are solved and the whole thing gets a refresh. Anyone who needs help is pretty much out of luck. Responses are canned and it doesn’t seem to matter if they fit the problem. For this price, support should be much, much better. And, a picky point, they will send reminders but only using standard time, not Daylight Savings Time—really?!
  • No sound on iphone 6

    By Norwalkian
Just downloaded the app but cannot even play the first game because it works with auditory clues and the app doesn’t produce sound on my iphone. Bummer. Hopefully tomorrow’s free exercise will work.
  • Expensive

    By Uro Onc
    Expensive for what you get
  • Instructions too vague

    By Prob child
Instruction are too vague. Half way through the game, I understand what I am to go. Frustrating. Thinking of deleting game. Awful
  • Beta test?

    By Tom Tee
Great idea, apparently good data behind it, but clunky navigation (being kind there...)and very poor directions especially re ‘right’ v ‘wrong’ answers - eg if you get the right answer but BHQ determines you were too slow, it’s the wrong answer. But this is not self evident. Customer support very poor. Research and other explanatory material seems quite robust, though. So near, yet so far.
  • Can’t play any more games

    By joepaulfred
I downloaded this game after reading the description on the App Store. According to the description you get 1 free game a day. After 4days I can’t play any more games. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME

  • Love this App

    By Reggie 9
I was really enjoying this app on my phone and my Mac book. All of a sudden there is a compatibility issue w/ safari? Wish I could get my money back.
