  • Great App Minus One Pet Peeve

    By TwiSteDCBloSsoM
I love this app. I've been using it so far for digital planning. That being said my one and only pet peeve so far is the gify function and being unable to have them appear above the stickies. In general an option to bring any object forward or to send it behind would be amazing. No other complaints from me.
  • Great app overall but important issues need to be addressed

    By landscapee
Overall, I love this app. Folders, colors, highlighters, sub dividers. It has replaced my archaic paper and lead pencil. However, make sure you also purchase a drawing glove to use this app. The palm rejection really needs so love. I cant go more than 5 minutes with out the app thinking my palm is finger and moving the page around all over the place. Other times, it will think I am trying to magnify something on the document and leave a dot and a long straight line across the page. Other times, it won’t register the pencil stokes and I’ll have the horrible squiggly shapes that were supposed to be letters or numbers. Other times, it simply wont write. This is easily remedied but closing the application and reopening it. However, this happens often enough that it gets in the way of effective note taking. I generally use this for school and it is an irritant when I am titling a note and I cannot save it due to having that title being utilized in another section of the application. This is very minor, but there are many times when I have “Exam 2 Review” for multiple classes and I have to come up with some decoding system to remember what that note is. It is incredibly convenient to be able to share notes with other via PDF or other forms of dox. The ability to change colors with ease, make folders, sub dividers, and many other things certainly outweighs the cons of the app. But I do hope in the further these issues are addressed. And I would be happy to know that there is some setting other than multitasking gestures that I can turn off to get a batter experience.
  • Great!

Love this, but it needs to allow more dividers within dividers. I like to group my classes per quarter and then divide the class subjects into class notes, readings, practice problems, etc... but that’s not possible yet. Please fix that!
  • I've used this app a lot

    By DiscoBrisco
But now i have to stop. I don't know why but all of my notes have suddenly become unfilled and all of my folders were deleted. I am moving to another app because I cannot be bothered to try and reorganize my thousands of notes I've taken.
  • Love this app

I use this app regularly. This is one of the best annotating apps out there, I have pretty much tried them all. I have kept just a couple, this is one. There is one irritating thing I have with this app. That costs it one star. Every now and then it forces you to do a complete shut down of my iPad (and I have the iPad Pro 10.5 version). It won’t open until after you shut down. This will happen at the most inconvenient times. And I lose what I was “copying and pasting” and have to start over. No other apps I use do this. When that stops, I give it 5 stars.
  • Update!

    By sandra2341230
There are so many upgrades that could be integrated into this app. - hand writing recognition into the search bar - automatic shape corrector, without having to open a new page to draw a shape - and a way to insert extra writing space App is great but there are other apps that have improved and upgraded their note taking app and this one hasn’t advanced that much. Other than that I love the app and how simple it is to use!
  • Loved it until all of my school notes disappeared.

I’ve been using Notability as my note taking app on my iPad for all of my school courses. The other day I updated my app and added Notability to my iPhone. Somewhere between updating and adding a device I lost over a month’s worth of school notes and PDF’s I was working on. I’m currently exploring Evernote as an alternative because it connects via Google.
  • Handwritten searches

Wish it indexes my notes so I can search for them.
  • Small and annoying bugs and missing features

On my iPad Pro, after erasing, sometimes markings stay behind, half translucent and can only be erased with select->delete. Also when taking photos, occasionally it adds about 10 pages and puts the photo on the last page so I have to drag it back up. Apples notes app is garbage but let’s me search text. I’d also like to see the ability to open two notes at once and please please make changing colors/size a single gesture and make the eraser a button that I can hold rather than a tool I have to switch to. Would also be nice if photos didn’t save to camera roll (or at least add the option) and if it instantly gave the option to crop the photo without needing to double finger press->edit photo->crop->and then at least two gestures for the actual cropping. Love the app, but please update the functionality!

I like this app for all my PDF annotating. However, there is no iCloud Drive support. There’s iCloud syncing between the app on iOS and the Mac, but I can’t grab files from the iCloud Drive folder in my Mac like I can with many other annotating apps. I have to use another service, like OneDrive to be able to get to the files from my Mac. I don’t want to use the app on the Mac, I just want to get my files. Further, it only backs up when you close the document you’re working on and only when you keep the app open. If you close the app, it doesn’t backup. Further, deleting files in the app doesn’t delete the file from the backup service. Finally, the app doesn’t display pdf annotations that are written in other apps. I have to flatten the pdf first, then shared it with this app. Try telling a client to first flatten their pdf before sending it.
